We went to Caher Valley, which has the only above-ground river in the Burren. We drove there, then got out and walked 5 1/2 miles. Down the road we could have driven on. Which didn't have a sight of the river most of the time anyway.
3 hours later.. the sea! and more importantly, the bus.
Also apparently farmers in Caher are very lazy and just herd their cows via jeep:
Here's some horsies.
And the world's longest fuzzy caterpillar
There's so much walking here in Ballyvaughan. My calves are permanently tense. Someone mail me a masseuse.
Got up early on Saturday despite the pathetic need to sleep in, to catch the 8:25 coach to Galway, where we ran lots of errands. We got done about 1. The coach back to Ballyvaughan doesn't leave Galway until 6. It was a long day.
Tonight was Maurice's real birthday party. Running on lack of nap and cereal for dinner I did manage to sort of dress up (i.e. borrowed things from my house mates) since this party was going to be rockin'. They set up disco lights. And a smoke machine, and kareoke, and a "bonfire" in their BBQ, and jello shots, and music we could hear from our house, and food (damn, just remembered I forgot to sneak some back with me).
I don't know what was going down at my house, but people was takin' forevah to leave, so Emily D. and I went ahead early. (Like, freaky early. The rest of our house didn't show up until an hour later.)
In the end, however, it just turned out to be a very smokey, very cold room with people singing the same songs over and over and drinking a lot of something green and vodka-heavy.
(We snuck out the back at like 10:45)
The lights were cool though.
My clothes that now smell of cigarettes, not so much.
Ohmigosh I'm so tired. So glad I don't have to get up until 10 tomorrow..
