Great Wall

Ze Great Wall! This may have been the most entertaining site we visited, and let me tell you why. It is very important that before I say anything else, you know that one can take a ski lift up to the wall and then toboggan down. Yes, you can climb on the Great Wall in between what is possibly the greatest amusement park ride.

Ok, now that you understand the absolute awesomeness that was Wall transportation, we can talk about the actual Wall.
Well, it's very beautiful, but no one ever mentions the sheer slope of the steps you have to climb on the damn thing.

There were points where I was crawling up (to the amsument of some strangers) on all fours, the steps a good 2 feet high, though they were so uneven I didn't know what to get until I stepped. We looked a bit ridiculous. In complete contrast, there were more level parts where the stairs were about 2 inches high, which made for very uncomfortable tiny steps. Basically, no two steps were alike, and whomever decided that was a good idea clearly missed the day they should have learned about steps needing to be even in order to be used without frustration.

Got to try haggling by myself at a few vendors. Went OK, I suppose. I impressed Grace at least wit the final price for some fans. Still clumbsy with my chopsticks though--every meal is a battle. Stanley says, at least you'll stay skinny this trip.
