Connemara pt. 2

This awesome place is Kylmore Abbey

We didn't have time to go inside, but here's a photo of a photo of what it looks like!

Lunch stop. Sarah tried death by giant sandwich..

..and then had to drink a lot of tea to compensate

Devin tried to nap across the seats.

The beach! this one isn't made of sand, but instead small calcified particles of seaweed.

We all had fun gathering cool shells; and apparently sometimes you can find beans that have floated here from the mediterranean!

The second beach we went to was more traditional beach-like.

Our group playing in the water

Devin off by himself.. again.. :(

Connemara is sheep country (whereas Burren is cow)

(that's paint, not blood, on his back. The sheep are tagged with different colors, though we have no idea as to their meanings or purpose.)

Emily D.'s new watch.

This is acceptable parking in Ireland

This one's for Andrew.

  1. Hey, I know that one! The sheep are tagged with colors to show who owns them. Or, in mating season, they put color on the underside of the males, and then the color transfers to the females' bum to show which have been mated with.

    The more you know!

(love the beach shot, especially the headless male model in the top corner.)
