Friday, 3rd September

4:45 pm. The House.

Finally stopped travelling.
Unlike the forecast, the weather is very pleasant today, warm and mostly sunny. It was a nice drive from the airport to the school. Many regrets, despite being about half an hour, there are no pictures due to me being too busy clutching my seatbelt and the passenger door (fun fact: taxi drivers are the same everywhere). In any case, it went something like this-

field, cows, line of trees, field, stone wall, cows, hedge wall, field, CASTLE, field, cows, line of trees..

.. for a considerably narrow and windy road that Thomas the driver took at 70 miles per hour.

I was friendily, but unceremoniously dumped at the house, hastily introduced to the other 8 residents, informed I had missed the housing orientation, and then left to my own devices.

(I took a nap.)

After which I almost missed the trip to the town, a 10 minute walk along the road to a little convenience store where we all milled about and stared at the food baffled as to what we currently needed and whistfully thinking of the simplicity that top ramen and easy mac give to groceries.

P.S. We discovered a chicken in our lawn on the way back.
